Power...

We all need power in our lives of that there is no doubt but how we make and use that power is open to debate. We hope this site will offer some alternatives to the general idea that all power comes out of the 3 pin plug supplied by the "Big 6" power companies.

By being more aware of our electric useage especially in our homes we can start to take control of our energy consumption and start to reduce our dependency on the big 6 power companies.

We hope to show some ways that can drastically reduce your power consumption and at the same time save a considerable amount of money. From persional experience we have reduced our electric consumption from over 10,000 kwh per year two years ago to 7805kwh last year and to the year ending May 31st 2008 our consumption had dropped to 3080Kwh. In energy terms we have saved 7102 Kwh but in monetary terms based on the price of 13.2p per Kwh that saving is £934.47 or an average of over £468.00 !!

The major thing about this is that we have not had to live in the dark ages with candles for light etc. We have also worked out that we can also save another 1356 kwh or nearly £179 by replacing our under the counter fridge and freezer for an A rated energy efficient one.
