We
all know the world is changing and climatic
change is ever increasingly in the news but
what do we need to do to survive the changes
including climatic change ?
We all know CO2 is a potent greenhouse gas and
one that we need to reduce in significant amounts
to help re balance the planet. We also know
that we need to plant many more trees to help
sequestrate CO2 but that is a long term solution
to an urgent present day problem. One
way currently getting scientists excited is
the production of Biochar.
Now
I am not going to try to explain the thinking
behind this when there are so many more eminent
people around the world who are making the case
for this "miracle cure"[as described
by one critic] to greenhouse gasses.
For
my part in this, and it's a very, very small
part but it's going to be taking part in THE
BIG BIOCHAR EXPERIMENT
over the next 12 months or so.
I
garden organically and also use the no dig,
deep bed method of growing so I'll be taking
part in this experiment and I'll be turning
a full deep bed over to this experiment. I will
keep updating this page with my thoughts and
pictures as the experiment in my garden progresses
but to say I'm well excited is an under statement.
